And the Nom Nomination goes to….

March 15, 2012 by Tim

bahn mi

Its cold, it’s wet, and I’m hungry. But fortune is smiling on me, because it is Wednesday and the Nom Nom Truck is just down the road today.  I am feeling like a Honey Grilled Pork bahn mi might be just what the doctor ordered today.  The first Nom Nom Truck got its start in LA, and now they have a truck in the bay area also. Started by owners Marisa Chien and Jennifer Green, they feature the ever popular bahn mi sandwich, and Vietnamese tacos.  They recently came in second place on the first season of Food Networks “Great Food Truck Race”, but they are first in my book. In case you don’t know what a bahn mi is, let me fill you in. It all starts with a large crunchy baguette. On to that you add mayo, thin slices of cucumber, your choice meat, a marinated carrots and radish slaw, and cilantro.  You can have your choice of honey grilled pork, lemon grass chicken, bbq pork or tofu, jalapeños on request for an extra kick. Its fast, it’s fresh and it is full of flavor.  The easiest way to catch up with the Nom Nom Truck is to follow them on twitter @NomNomTruckSF.  You’ll be going nom nom nom in no time.
